Security Post Orders Template

Post orders are the contract between what the client thinks they bought and what the officer actually does at 3 a.m. This template covers the site, the shift-by-shift duties, the escalation chain, and the hard limits on officer authority.

Built for PPO owners and account managers writing site documentation for a new or existing contract. · Updated 2026-08-01

PPO #122730

How to use it

  1. 1.Walk the site with the client before writing anything — post orders written from a desk fail on night one.
  2. 2.Write duties by hour or by tour, not as a vague list of responsibilities.
  3. 3.Name real people in the escalation tree, with real after-hours numbers, and re-verify them quarterly.
  4. 4.Have every officer assigned to the post read and sign the acknowledgment page.
  5. 5.Keep a controlled copy at the post and a master copy in the office; version and date every change.
