- 1.Print a stack for each post, or save as PDF and fill it on a tablet at the guard station.
- 2.Log entries as they happen, in 24-hour time. Never backfill a DAR at the end of a shift.
- 3.Write observations as facts a stranger could verify — location, time, what was seen, what was done.
- 4.Have the relieving officer and supervisor initial the handoff line before the outgoing officer leaves.
- 5.Deliver the completed DAR to the client within 24 hours; keep your copy on file for the contract term.
