Standing Guard (Fixed Post)

A security officer stationed continuously at a single location, as opposed to patrolling multiple sites.

A standing guard, or fixed post, is an officer assigned continuously to a single location — a lobby desk, gate, or entrance — rather than moving between multiple properties on a patrol route.

Standing guard assignments are common where constant presence, visitor screening, or immediate response capability at one specific point matters more than covering a wider area, such as a staffed gate at a gated community or a lobby desk at a commercial building.

Standing guard services typically cost more per hour than shared mobile patrol coverage, because the officer is dedicated to a single site rather than dividing time across several properties.
