Security Lighting

Even, glare-free illumination of parking areas, walkways, and entrances that removes concealment opportunity at night.

Security lighting refers to outdoor lighting designed for uniform coverage rather than isolated bright spots, following guidance from bodies like the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) on foot-candle levels and uniformity ratios for parking and pedestrian areas.

Dark gaps between fixtures, not overall dimness, are usually the practical problem: uneven lighting can make shadowed areas appear darker by contrast even when the average illumination reading looks acceptable.

Lighting is a design and maintenance responsibility, not something a patrol company installs, but patrol officers commonly document outages and dark spots during rounds for the property to address.
