- 1.Fill posts first, people second — start from contracted coverage, not from who wants hours.
- 2.Assign a named relief officer for every post, not a generic 'on call'.
- 3.Total each officer's scheduled hours before you publish, and flag anyone approaching overtime.
- 4.Publish at least a week out and confirm receipt from each officer.
- 5.Log every callout and swap so the schedule you published matches the timesheets you pay.
