Are security guards or AI cameras better?

Neither works well alone. AI surveillance is superior at continuous watching and instant detection; a licensed security officer is the only part of the system that can verify, intervene, de-escalate, and document. The properties with the lowest loss run both — analytics for detection and officers for response.

Will AI surveillance replace security guards?

No. AI is replacing the task of staring at monitors, not the presence of an officer. Detection is automated work; response, judgment, use-of-force decisions, and legally defensible documentation are human work regulated in California under BSIS. Our position is that AI makes officers faster and more accountable, not unnecessary.

What is the cost difference between AI monitoring and guard patrol?

Camera-only monitoring is cheaper per month but shifts all response cost onto police response times and your own staff. A hybrid model — analytics plus scheduled patrol or a standing post — usually costs less than a full 24-hour manned post while dramatically outperforming cameras alone on prevented loss.

Does AI reduce false alarms?

Good analytics reduce them, but they never reach zero. Human verification before dispatch is what keeps false alarms from becoming ignored alarms — which is the most common way a camera system quietly stops working.
